South Detroit is Windsor-Essex’s only pizzaria specializing in Detroit-Style pizza. Drawing inspiration from our neighbours to the north, South Detroit is all about that deep dish square slice.
WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH DETROIT-STYLE PIZZA?
It’s square. It’s reversed. It’s deep dish. Brick cheese is spread to the edges of the dough and as the pie bakes, the cheese melts down the sides creating a crispy, thick and chewy Sicilian crust. Our fire-roasted tomato sauce is layered over the cheese and topped with other deliciousness, thus creating the classic Detroit style pizza.
